The American Left has achieved many breakthroughs in the fight against slavery, progressive era labor legislation, women?s suffrage, environmental awareness, de-segregation, and securing rights for marginalized social and ethnic groups. But there have been some significant setbacks as well. In this public conversation, Kazin will address both aspects of the American Left?s storied legacy.
