Neither Bellicose Nor Helpless: A Democratic Left Proposal for Defense Policy

It is impossible to discuss U.S. defense policy without locating it within an examination of foreign policy in all its ramifications. A discussion that limits itself to questions of technology and hardware on the one hand, or grotesque costs on the other, misses the point.
