Myra Wolfgang is international vice-president of the Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Employees’ Union, as well as secretary-treasurer of its Local 705 in Detroit. She also heads the Coalition for Women’s Advancement. This interview was held in Detroit by Bernard RosenbergĀ and Saul Weinman.
Weinman: Can you begin by telling us not something about restaurant workers?
Wolfgang: The restaurant industry provides low-paying service jobs. It is the one industry that gives married women an opportunity just to work from eleven in the morning to two in the afternoon.
