Everyone concerned with the relation of forms of ownership to political equality owes a substantial debt to Richard W. Krouse for his lucid analysis. It invites one to deal with the issues with the greatest clarity one can bring to this difficult task and for that we should all be grateful. In addition, I appreciate his scrupulous restatement of my own argument, particularly since the various pieces of it have been scattered over a number of different publications, which, in an unusual demonstration of scholarly responsibility and no little patience, he has undertaken to read.
